Programs Offered by BOSSE


BOSSE, designs and offers a diverse range of programs to provide quality education and promote career-oriented skills. BOSSE programs prioritize practical learning and vocational subjects, aiming to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their chosen fields.

Secondary Programme

The Secondary Certificate is equal to the Xth standard, and admission to the Secondary Programme requires a minimum age of 14 years by 31st August for the April-May exam and by 28/29 February for the October-November exam. Learners have the freedom to choose subjects and combinations, with the requirement of including at least one language. Refer to the provided BOSSE List of Subjects to make your selection.

Note: The admission fee does not include the examination fees. The examination fees must be paid separately within the specified dates. 50% fee concession is admissible to the candidates with bonafide domicile of Sikkim on Programme Fee. BOSSE at its sole discretion can offer scholarship to the meritorious learners.

Pass/Certification Criteria

Passing Criteria in Individual Subjects Cerfication Criteria

In order to meet the minimum requirements, students need to achieve a minimum of 33% marks in the aggregate of Theory and Practical components. The Theory component includes continuous assessment, which carries a weightage of 20%. The mark sheet will display the marks obtained through continuous assessment in a separate column.

To successfully pass, students must clear a minimum of five subjects, with at least one language subject being included among them.

Senior Secondary Programme


The XIIth standard is the equivalent of the Senior Secondary Programme. Eligible individuals who have successfully passed their Secondary examination can enroll in the Sr. Secondary Programme offered by BOSSE. A self-attested copy of the Secondary Certificate must be provided by all applicants. The selection of subjects and combinations is unrestricted, except for the mandatory requirement of choosing at least one language. Learners have the freedom to select their subjects from the provided BOSSE List of Subjects below:

BOSSE, Sikkim demonstrates its utmost importance towards Skill and Vocational education by including ‘Skill Education’ in the name of the Board alongside ‘Open Schooling.’ This emphasis on Skills enhances the inclusivity and relevance of education. BOSSE’s Skill Education Programme actively aims to produce a skilled and employable middle-level workforce, addressing the issue of unemployment. BOSSE actively strives to offer a wide range of skill-based vocational courses that align with industry requirements, providing better job placement opportunities.
